Dear friends,
2 Corr. 6 vs 3-10 (ESV):
We put no obstacle in anyone’s way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry, but as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: by great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger; by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, the Holy Spirit, genuine love; by truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left; through honor and dishonor, through slander and praise. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true; as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as punished, and yet not killed; as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing
Jyväskylä
I don’t want to exclude you from the wonderful things, that our great God is doing here in Jyväskylä through the broken and rejected but precious people. I by myself experience that here in Finland the struggle and the work is much harder and more difficult then it was in Brasil. We see that the darkness does’ nt give up his prey, but through continuously prayer and trust in the Lord and NEVER giving up. After working hard under many difficulties, slander, rejection and ploughing through hard grounds, my tear-filled eyes have seen what God has done in lives. The sower went out weeping, but now the time has come that he begins to harvest the crop with joy. Psalm 126 vers 6 encourages me to go on in faith.
Frends from Holland
What also did good to me was the visit of Jaap and Liesbeth Noordam. The stayed for a week with us in our home. They were able to taste what the Lord is doing here. For a missionary it is so good when friends come and visit and encourage you and pray for you and just sit together and have fellowship and…. Also to speak Dutch for a while. Their visit gave me also new strength not to give up in every we going through! Added to this newsletter you will find a full report of their travel experience.
Jani Ikonen
After a enormous warning Jani experienced a radical and permanent conversion to God. Jani, who is 32 years old, was addicted to the injection of amphetamine and many other kinds of medicine for years. Now he is following a strict discipleship every day and by the grace of God he held his job in the foodbank. It was so moving to see how God showed His Fatherslove for Jani and God even tells Jani where to find back his stolen bicycle in town. Jani also has some good brothers and sisters around him who ca help him to grow in the Lord. In his testimony Jani says that if the Lord had not interfered in his situation, something very bad would likely has passed his way. This is why a holy fear of God has come upon Jani! As for us: we experience real, old fashioned, biblical times! On Wednesday May 19th Jani is baptised! ALL THE GLORY TO JESUS!!
The church
This month I had a talk with three leaders of the Pentecostal Church Zion in Jyväskylä. It begun as if it was a cross-examination, but praise God it ended in a kind way. The Harvest is never against the Body of Christ. On the contrary we intend to build bridges with our groups to the churches in order to show them that we are not against them but for them. And with our groups we want to lower the thresholds to the church so that they can get the food that the church cannot offer them at this time. Please pray that there comes more co-operation and that doors will be opened so that I will be able to speak frankly about these matters.
Jewish family camps
I have once again got a invitation to participate in several Jewish family camps in co-operation with the organisation Barentsion. Probably next week I travel to Keuroo to meet the leader of Barentsion, Kai Kangas.
I know that the Lord has a special purpose to bring me in these camps in order to teach, to minister and to heal his people. Because our groups are on their own for some time we have to find out what to do with the care for our own groups. I believe the Lord will give wisdom in this case. Please pray especially for this because also Ansku is going with me, so that she can learn about the Jewish people. And we also hope to see that God will hopefully confirms the calling that is probably on her life. And let us above all keep praying for Gods people and that His Shalom be over Jerusalem.
Special prayers
We also ask for special prayers for the following precious men and woman:
Jani, Sini, Maaret, Ansku, Marti, Riita (junior), Riita (senior), Pia, Ano, Tero, Janne, Rauno and Lisa. These people have to deal with different kinds of struggles in there lives, such as: alcohol, drugs, incest, depression, satanism, abuse, drug addiction and broken background and relations.
Some are just born Christians and and in the very beginning of there adventure with God. Demonic powers try again and again to pull them back into their old live. The presents of God however is strongly there. And there is growing love and security within the groups. Everybody is accepted as he or she is, but we work together that they do not remain babies.
So there is a lot to pray for but also to be thankful for. We thank everyone participating in this ministry.
May the Lord bless you all. Many warm greetings and love to all of you!
Luisa
